Dr Amita Shah is an extremely compassionate and conscientious doctor who combines human touch with academic and clinical brilliance. Having been a top academic achiever throughout, she passed out of the prestigious King George Medical College, Lucknow with honours in several subjects including Obstetrics and Gynaecology. Her hard work and sincerity in care towards patient was rewarded with “Dr Usha Sharma Running Trophy for being adjudged for Year 1998/1999 –The Best Junior Resident in Obstetrics & Gynecology”. She was bestowed the “Dhanvantri Gold Medal” for best performance by a post graduate in the M.D examination for year 1998. She has accumulated vast clinical experience in last 20 years in managing high risk pregnancies, infertility cases, gynae hormonal problems etc.

Her surgical skills in both Open and Laparoscopic (keyhole) surgery are remarkable and much admired by colleagues and juniors. Dr Amita works with a sincerity of purpose and believes in ethical and evidence based practice. The joy and feeling of gratitude from her patients has been her greatest awards.

Dr. Amita Shah is presently Senior Consultant and Head of Gynae department at Columbia Asia Hospital. She has been at Columbia Asia since its beginning for the last 9 years and has been instrumental in setting up the department.
