10 Tips for having a HEALTHY PREGNANCY!

During pregnancy you are not only responsible for your health but also for the health of your growing baby. Therefore, it becomes even more important for you to take care of your health. Here are few tips that will help you stay healthy during pregnancy:

1. CONTACT YOUR DOCTOR

As soon as you know about your pregnancy, meet your doctor. She would want you to get some tests and scans done to confirm your pregnancy and to check for disorders which might lead to pregnancy complications. 

2. HEALTHY EATING

The next important thing is eating nutritious food. The food you eat will not only help you stay healthy during pregnancy but will also help boost your baby’s development. Avoid eating oily and spicy food. Keep a check on your eating patterns, eat less but frequently.

3. EXERCISE

It improves blood circulation in your body, prevents and eases any pain you have and makes it easy for you to manage the increasing weight. Apart from this, it also helps in rejuvenating you both mentally and physically.

4. DRINK PLENTY OF WATER

Water can do wonders. It can help prevent a lot of problems like constipation, dehydration, urinary tract infections etc. Staying hydrated is very important especially in the third trimester as dehydration can cause contractions leading to preterm labor.

5. GET ENOUGH REST

Along with exercising, it is equally important for you to relax. Get a quick nap in the middle of the day or just sit back and relax for a while.

6.You are entering a NO SMOKING ZONE!

Smoking is a big NO! NO! It increases the chances of miscarriages, still births, premature birth and many other health problems.

7. AVOID DRINKING ALCOHOL

During pregnancy, whatever you eat reaches your baby too through bloodstream, therefore, it is not advisable to drink alcohol. It can not only affect your baby’s development but can also increase the risk of miscarriage and still birth.

8. SEE YOUR DENTIST

Due to extreme hormonal changes, it is possible that you have dental issues such as gum bleeding and swollen gums. Get your dental check-ups done to avoid pregnancy related dental issues.

9. BE CAREFUL

Do all your work very carefully so as not to harm your baby in any way. Stay away from chemicals and avoid doing any rigorous and hazardous job.

10. STAY HAPPY

Lastly, it is very important to stay happy. Though the changing hormones will do everything to kill your mood, but go keep trying and stay positive.
