3d rendered medically accurate illustration of a fetus in week 22

Your baby weighs around 1 pound (0.45 kg) and looks like a miniature newborn. Your baby’s taste buds have started to form, and the brain and nerve endings are formed enough so that the fetus can feel touch. Your baby may start sucking a thumb, and feel other body parts and see how they move. His lips are more distinct; his eyes have developed and his eyebrows and eyelids are in place. Your fetus can now perceive light and dark much better than before. The first signs of teeth are showing beneath his gum line, and his taste is also forming.

Your baby’s reproductive system also develops. The testes start to descend from the abdomen for boys. In girls, the uterus/ovaries are in place and the vagina is developed.
